Tung's Acupuncture and External Herbal Applications for Trauma and Sports Injuries

Master Tung's acupuncture and its unique set of points is famous for its simplicity, convenience, and clinical efficacy. Henry McCann, author of Practical Atlas of Tung's Acupuncture and Pricking the Vessels: Bloodletting Therapy in Chinese Medicine, are highly regarded Tung books known for their clear and organized contents.

In this course, Dr. McCann begins with a summary of the core theory in Tung acupuncture (holographic correspondence, channel correspondence, tissue correspondence, Dao Ma). He will then share the stages of injuries, Master Tung’s acupuncture points for injury management focusing on acute conditions, and internal and external herbs for different body parts. Lastly, Dr. McCann will go into detail about poultice, medicated liniments, and ironing for topical applications of heated herbs.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Learn the stages of injuries

  • Learn Master Tung’s acupuncture points for injury management

  • Learn internal and external herbs for different body parts
